Fly Fishing NH's Connecticut Lakes Region

Good News At Last!

While all of the bad things that we hear every day (i.e. debt ceiling, democrats/republicans, nfl lockout , etc.) can often overshadow the good things that people do, there was a tidbit of good news out of Concord last week to make us all smile.

The funding to replace the dam at Boundary Pond was provided for in the new public works budget (part of the overall state budget), and approved by Governor Lynch last week. This money will also cover addressing the dams at Shehan Pond and Scott Bog. Sounds like they are trying to get the work done as soon as possible, and may even start on Boundary Pond this year. That’s great news if you love fishing or hanging out at this special place.

“Boundary Pond is one of the bodies of water that is so important to the economy of the North Country and it is important that we move as quickly as we can to get this dam back in working order.”

– Rep. Gene Chandler, chairman of the House Public Works and Highways committee

Thanks Gene!
