Connecticut Lakes Region Fishing Report: 5/31

Third Connecticut Lake yielded that nice laker that our guest Bob Poehlman and his son caught and released while trolling a couple of days ago. There have been some real nice trout and salmon caught on the Connecticut Lakes this spring, and we’re hoping that the river fishing catches up soon.

New Years Resolutions of the Fishing Kind

Those of you that regularly come to this page are already in to fishing, and the majority of you are probably experienced fly fishers. While this post may not be specifically geared toward you, maybe you know someone that has always wanted to learn how to fly fish, and our Tall Timber Fly Fishing Schools are the perfect place for them to start!

The Show’s Over … For Now

Thanks everybody for visiting with us for a while this weekend at The Fly Fishing Show in Marlboro.  We had a great time introducing Pittsburg and Tall Timber to some new folks and catching up with many of our tried and true TTL veterans.

TTL Fly Fishing School 2012

The weather conditions were tough for the Fly Fishing School instructors and the seven students but they gave it their best. They hit the river very early this morning and it was worth crawling out of a comfy warm bed to hook, land and release a few nice trout.

Surfs Up!

The wind really kicked up  this morning and the rain came along with it. Needless to say, there are no boats on Back Lake today.  The wind (21 mph gusts) is making things extremely challenging, especially for our Fly Fishing School students. Luckily the instructors did the the casting session last night. Good call.

Spread the Word …

If you’re a frequent visitor to this blog, you’re probably already a seasoned fisherman (or woman) who needs little in the way of advice on tips and techniques … right?

But if you know someone that has always wanted to take up the beautiful art of fly fishing, let them know that our fly fishing schools will once again be taking place this June and July.
