The wind really kicked up  this morning and the rain came along with it. Needless to say, there are no boats on Back Lake today.  The wind (21 mph gusts) is making things extremely challenging, especially for our Fly Fishing School students. Luckily the instructors did the the casting session last night. Good call.

Back Lake, up until yesterday, was fishing exceptionally well.  I think this bad weather moving in put the fish down. Trolling a Golden Demon was the way to go. Hornbergs, in gray and yellow should start to take a few fish also.

Jon drifted the Andro last week and they did  well, with  nymphing producing the most fish. One of Jon’s favorite nymphs for the Andro is the BH Dirty Bird in olive. It’s a great nymph particularly during the Alder Fly Hatch, which is only a couple of weeks away.

This is one handsome brown!

The Connecticut River has been very good, from the No Kill stretch, the Trophy Stretch, Murphy Dam area and south.   Angus Boezeman tusseled with a few monster trout as of late.

It looks like this weather may hang around for a few more days.  An overcast  sky can be a good thing, and the wind is forecasted to be around 5 mph, which is much better than the 21 mph gusts we have today.

Just a little reminder, Father’s Day is June 17th.   A Tall Timber Gift Certificate sure makes a great gift.  Give us call.
