The Connecticut River opens for fishing activity a mere 18 days from now, and this, of course, leads us to think of warmer, sunnier times from seasons past when we pursued our fishy friends. We received this excellent picture of Ed “Deadly Edly” Hermenau from Denis Fay the other day, showing Ed with a big cutthroat that he caught and released on Montana’s Slough Creek in July of 2012.
Ed and Denis, along with their friend Bruce Pilch, roam the Connecticut River for a couple of weeks in June each year, and also help the Hope On The Rise participants while they are up here. Their efforts are much appreciated and they have become valuable contributors to Hope On The Rise each June.
There are two things that must be pointed out with this picture however:
1. Ed’s wearing a Tall Timber hat, all the way over in Montana, which we’re very appreciative of. Thanks again Ed for promoting our lodge and area abroad.
2. This one could easily be missed, but Denis pointed it out to me in his e-mail – there is an inscription on Ed’s landing net. It was hard for me to read, until enlarging the picture. That says it all …
Watch the weather, and give us a call at 1-800-835-6343 if you’re ready for some winter fishing in 2013.
Keep those fishing pictures coming!

THE HERMENATOR, aka “Deadly Eddie”… this is too funny!… Well, Ed is certainly the emperor of all fishes, along with his partners in crime (Denis and Bruce)… and Hope on the Rise is grateful for their compassion and for sharing their love of fishing with the participants of our retreats…
Happy fishing, gents! And thanks for sharing the antics, the fish tales, and the laughs

Well leave it to my “Bud” Denis to embarass me with these things. Hey I can’t help it if I’m’a Trout Magnet!!!!
And that post just generates fishing thoughts as we head into winter – we are really only 6 months away and so on the downslope heading to June P

Ed –
when someone lobs a softball like this in my strike zone, I have to try to knock it out of the park! Great seeing that pic and looking forward to another June fishing in Pittsburg and hanging with Hope On The Rise!
