Great day and an even better evening on Back Lake today and tonight. No wind and lots of rising trout and bass slurping down their quarry. Mr. Hex isn’t here yet from what we can tell – must be that his flight has been DELAYED.  It’s only a matter of time now though – June 20 is usually the date where our hopes are fulfilled.

Lots of other stuff is happening though – some smaller mayflies have been coming off (similar to a light cahill?) and also many black caddis the last couple of days too. Hopefully the wind stays down so that we can target some fish. Our guests using hardware did very well today, and copper seemed to be the hot metal of choice for hungry brookies and rainbows.  Back Lake was stocked by NH Fish & Game this week, so the lake has a fair share of fish in it right now.

The Trophy Stretch has been very good too – easy wading at 150 CFS and seemingly plenty of eager trout and salmon. Fishing season (dry fly season) has truly kicked off, so get up here to get in on the action.

We have some openings next week, so give us a call if you can take time out – 800-835-6343.
