Fishing the Outer Ponds

This is the time of year to finally get out on one of Pittsburg’s many outer ponds, if you haven’t already. Brook trout inhabit these places, some of which are of the native variety, and some of which are stocked by the N.H. Fish & Game Department. Each pond is unique, and at least one of them is sure to become your favorite.

Upper Connecticut River Fishing Report: May 23

Abnormally awesome weather weekend in the north country didn’t materialize in to many trout for the Green Mountain Project Healing Waters veterans that we hosted. This brown trout was the exception – 20″ and very healthy and swimming the depths again today.

Pittsburg, N.H. Outer Pond Fishing Report: 5/29,

Lots of good news on the outer brook trout pond front – several of them have been fishing really well, with some good sized fish to boot.

Plan B: Pittsburg, NH’s Brook Trout Ponds

Fishing for brook trout on Pittsburg’s outer ponds can be a good option when things aren’t exactly clicking on the river or the lakes. N.H. Fish & Game stocked some of the ponds this week and the gates are open on some of the Connecticut Lakes Headwaters’s logging roads, but make sure you check the list because not all of them are open.
