Upper Connecticut River Fishing Report: 6/9

I know … another fish in the net picture, but believe me, it was tough to manage a 2+ lb. Connecticut River brook trout in my net, my rod, my camera phone, and a cigar sticking out of my mouth all at the same time – this is the best I could do. This one (and the one before it) took a soft hackle hatching pupa trailing an olive woolybugger on a sinking leader on my switch rod.

Pittsburg, NH Connecticut River Fishing Report: 6/8

While the weather continues to be rainy and dismal, that hasn’t dampened the angling spirit of some of our guests here at the lodge. That’s Vivian Hernandez with a large Lake Francis Inlet lunker brown that she took on a wooly bugger on sink tip line yesterday – what’s even better is that this big guy was released!

Connecticut River Drift Update: 9/2

Fantastic day on the good ole Connecticut yesterday – summerlike temps, in the 70s and low 80s, with plenty of sunsplash. Not the best weather for dry fly action, but boy, does it feel good. These are the waning days of summer, and it’s nice getting a reminder of what is almost over.
