On a drift from Canaan, VT to Colebrook, NH with OMR and his Bride yesterday, I asserted my dominance over yet another fin-bearing species of the northeast. Not one, but two whitefish took my jailbird, which was trailing a Pat’s Rubber Legs three or four feet down. They each fought surprisingly well for whiteys, and were caught back to back.

That makes me the reigning Transcontinental Whitefish Champion, as I tamed the resident mountain whitefish population in Montana earlier this spring. Now if I could only get better at fishing for trout …
