Fly Fishing NH's Connecticut Lakes Region

It’s a brookie, believe me …

Looks like some kind of tiger trout hybrid, but it was actually a Back Lake brook trout, caught yesterday by John Wakefield. The pic was probably taken a little while after he caught it, so that’s why the mysterious “stripes” showed up.

By the way, the lake was stocked again this week, so there’s a ton plenty of fish that need “educating” here.

All the usual stuff’s working too –

Lures: rooster tails, super dupers, rapalas, phoebes.  Flies: mickey finn, woodduck heron, sparrow, maynard’s marvel.

Stop in if you’re up and we can give you some other recommendations for the lake, ponds or river – lots of options right now for fish chasers – exactly what we want.

HEXES??? It was pretty good again tonight, when the wind would permit from what I heard. We’re probably in the peak right now fro Back Lake, so get up here, especially if we have a clear, calm day …
