Brookies and Bass. Even with the heavy wind on Back Lake, we were able to find a sheltered spot, and get into a few fish Friday night using Soft Hackle Pheasant Tails. There were a few Hex’s coming off, along with some smaller mayflies. They’re predicting temperatures as low as 39 degrees for the next couple of nights, and with the wind, that should bring down the water temperature even more. According to our guests, they’re having good luck trolling  full sinking lines with hornbergs and woolybuggers.

The Trophy Stretch is still fishing well even with the lower flow of 100 CFS. OMR and I fished it on Thursday, and we did pretty well, especially OMR using the worm. But what really got me was when I got snagged and he offered to get it loose. Yep, he got it loose alright, and then took a cast with MY rod and nailed this gorgeous brookie. It was on a Soft Hackle Streamer by the way.
