Rainbows & Bass. That’s where it’s at on Back Lake. We still have a few Hexes coming off in the evening, and the surface water temperature is 72 degrees. Not bad for the middle of August. It was nice picking up a few fish stripping Soft Hackle Pheasant Tails and Sparrows.

The Connecticut River is still fishing well, from the No-Kill, to the Trophy Stretch, below Murphy Dam, and all the way down to Colebrook. OMR had several great drifts on the Connecticut last week fishing Hoppers and Red Ants. The Worm continues to catch fish on the Trophy, along with streamers, Elk Hair Caddis and BWO’s. The water flow on the Trophy Stretch has been increase to almost 150 CFS, which is perfect.

Hope to see you in Pittsburg.
