Yellow Drakes. I found  these and  many more  on the lodge windows this morning. There are also Black Caddis, a smaller (16) Gray Caddis, Midges and I actually spotted my first Hex for this season. It’s the Yellow Drake Emerger that the fish are keying in on at the moment. I’ve been using  a Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail ( 10), a Partridge & Peacock or a Golden Demon and a few of our guests reported the “88” worked for them.  This is an evening hatch with lots of rising fish and there were rising fish this morning also. I love this time of year on Back Lake. It’s a little too early for Hexs, but you should have a few of these in your box just in case. Be Prepared!

OMR drifted the Connecticut River on Friday and they did very well. Again, lots of bugs and the fish were looking up. Top flies, the Slump Buster in the AM  and the Purple Haze in the PM.

There were lots of fish stocked in the area this past week. Back Lake and the Trophy Stretch for sure.  It’s dry fly time.
