The higher water flow out of First Ct. Lake dam, a.k.a. the Trophy Stretch, has brought in some good size salmon from Lake Francis. Nymphs and streamers are working well but the trick is to get em down. You’ll need to add some extra split shot because of the higher water. OMR, Dave Poole and Angus have been guiding and getting their clients into some really nice fish. Our fly fishing school this past weekend went well but it was a little wet. Man, did it rain. Everyone caught fish under Angus’s tutelage.

The “No Kill” below Second Ct. Lake dam is also fishing well. If the higher water of the Trophy Stretch is a little too much for you, try the “No Kill” for native brookies and salmon. Check out the Falls in the River Trail which is part of the CT (Cohos Trail). Very cool.

Back Lake is still fishing well. I went out several evenings last week and there were a few Light Cahills coming off and rising fish. I did the best with a size 12 Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail. It’s  only going to get better and better and we all know what is just around the corner. Mr. Hex!

I’ve heard good things about  Coon Brook Bog and as I was heading to Colebrook this afternoon, there were two, yes two stocking trucks heading north. It should be a great weekend ahead. We will be hosting the Casting For Recovery Retreat again this weekend.  This group is always fun to have at the lodge.

Tom is back from chasing the little white ball in Myrtle Beach. No, No I know what your thinking and I’m not going there.
