Payback …

Payback for some tough days of fishing in the north country came yesterday – one of the best days of fishing that I’ve had in Pittsburg’s waters, and perhaps anywhere, for that reason.

Ice Out at Back Lake

The ice peacefully went out today at Back Lake, and Lake Francis and First Connecticut Lake are close behind – expect them to be out this weekend.

Pittsburg, NH Pond Fishing Report: 5/19

Good times fishing on Pittsburg, NH’s outer ponds this weekend – lots of action at Round Pond yesterday, and Coon Brook Bog was good too.  It’s not rocket science with our eager brook trout right now: Adams and Yellow Hornbergs worked great, and “on the strip” no less!

Connecticut River Fishing Report: April 26

It’s been a while folks … sorry about that. Truth be told, there’s been very little to talk about in regards to our fishy friends lately, but all of that may be changing. Above is this morning’s picture of Back Lake – not iced out yet, but it should be in two more days we’re thinking.

Who needs to go on a “fishing destination” trip anyway?  We have some excellent trout and salmon fishing right here in northern N.H., and sometimes a beautiful rainbow trout is all that’s needed to remember just how great it can be.
