Fishing season on the upper Connecticut River will be here before we all know it. Seems hard to believe in the depths of winter, but it’s only a few months away now, and the Pittsburg Anglers Association is hard at work to make sure it gets off to a flying start.

Formed in 2015, the Pittsburg Anglers Association is a 501(c)(3) organization (non-profit tax ID # 82-1999213) devoted to trout stocking and the enhancement of fishing opportunities on the Connecticut River in Pittsburg, N.H. The primary focus of their endeavor is stocking the Upper Connecticut River’s “Trophy Stretch”, one of New England’s premier trout and salmon fisheries, as well as a destination for many visitors to the area.

The stocking day will take place in mid May (exact date TBD), and they expect to stock approximately 750 brawling browns, beautiful brookies, and brilliant rainbows that will call the Trophy Stretch home this season. These fish, along with our native trout and landlocked salmon, will make for some great angling this summer.

As usual, the efforts of all of the volunteers that come out to help help that day is much appreciated, as well as the helpful folks at Sumner Brook Fish Farm in Ossipee, N.H. that make it all possible.

In the meantime, it takes money to stock trout, so the P.A.A. needs your support to prepare for stocking day by soliciting donations – that’s where you come in. They have appreciated your support in years past, and hope for your generosity again in 2023.

Please, spread the word to friends that fish in Pittsburg – they can’t do it without your support!
