Don’t Like the Weather?

Wait ten minutes. That’s the northern New England saying that seems to often apply to Pittsburg, NH. While it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster the last couple of days, it certainly has not been a “washout”.

Summer Days …

Some beautiful weather lately to pursue trout and salmon on the Connecticut River in Pittsburg NH, though we are due to get some rainy weather moving through this week. Should help keep the lake levels high and the water flowing out of the dams.

Tips for Wading Safely

A helpful video from our friends at Orvis on how to wade moving water safely. Particularly appropriate after a visitor to our area dislocated his hip while wading and had to be rescued from the Connecticut River just a couple of days ago.

What’s in that Fly Box?

I’ve always found other angler’s fly boxes kind of fascinating in a way. They seem to give a snapshot of how that fisherman likes to fish, and if you look hard enough, perhaps even is a glimpse in to that angler’s personality.

Erin Marchica is all smiles as Tall Timber Fishing Guide Mickey Cunliffe releases her beauty of a brook trout on the The Trophy Stretch of the Connecticut River. The river  has been producing, but we must add that the fish have been “educated” over the last two months, so they are by no means jumping in the net.
