Pittsburg is strictly a cold water fishery containing brook, brown and rainbow trout, lake trout and landlocked salmon, satisfying the fly fisherman and spin fisherman alike. If it’s stream fishing you are most interested in, the "Fly Fishing Only" sections of the Connecticut River provide some of the best fly fishing in the Northeast. The "Trophy Stretch", a two and one half mile of riffles and pools, holds both trout and salmon.
Throughout the season and even in the heat of August, you’ll find phenomenal fly fishing due to a bottom release dam that provides clear, cold water all season.

Fishing licenses, proven trout teasing tackle, and a great selection of flies can be found in the Tall Timber Fly Shop.
