Payback …

Payback for some tough days of fishing in the north country came yesterday – one of the best days of fishing that I’ve had in Pittsburg’s waters, and perhaps anywhere, for that reason.

Mickey’s beautiful and very energetic laker was the icing on our proverbial cake …

They’re back …

Looks like the annual “running of the salmon” is upon us in the Connecticut River between Second Connecticut Lake and First Connecticut Lake, at long last. It began sometime this past weekend, and it looks like we should have good salmon fishing for a couple of weeks, if mother nature cooperates.

Nearing the End …

That’s a beauty of a Trophy Stretch landlocked salmon that Nate has there – it was caught yesterday and safely released. Thanks to Gary Bernier for the excellent picture.

Upper Connecticut River Fishing Report: 9/22

We’re down to the nitty gritty now for the fishing season – including tomorrow, there are only 23 fishing days left on the Connecticut River … this makes us sad …

The beautiful brookie in spawning colors pictured above took a Scout this morning on the Trophy Stretch – what a fish!
