Perhaps you’re like me and made a New Years resolution to get more active and reach your fighting weight again in 2015, or perhaps you’ve decided to learn a new discipline to enjoy your time on the water. If you’re the latter, you may consider our “Spey Casting with the Switch Rod” Clinic that we will offer on September 19, 2015.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you could learn how to cast gracefully like all of those Atlantic salmon and steelhead fishermen, this may be the time to stop wondering and start doing. Switch rods in particular have a place on many of our rivers here in New England. Once you start doing it, much like the discipline of fly fishing in general, you begin to fall in love with the rods, the lines, and pulling off a beautiful (and sometimes long) cast to a fish that you wouldn’t be able to get close to normally.

We are fortunate to have William FlySpoke, one of a handful of IFFF certified two handed casting instructors, teaching our clinic this fall – he has decades of experience fishing for trout, salmon and stripers and his knowledge will help students begin their journey in casting two handed rods.

September 19 is also a perfect time to swing streamers for big fish on the Connecticut River, and our all inclusive Spey Casting Clinic Package (clinic, room, meals, all gratuities, tax) will help you relax and take advantage of a great time to be on the river. R-E-L-A-X and leave the details to us …
