Upper Connecticut River Fishing Report: 8/24

That’s a beautiful landlocked salmon that our guide Angus Boezeman is holding for his client and our guest Richard Lechthaler a couple of days ago. It was caught and released on the Trophy Stretch of the Connecticut River in Pittsburg, N.H., and undoubtedly told his piscatorial brethren of his brush with Angus, renowned among the trout and salmon of the north country.

Connecticut River Fishing Report: 8/11

A very beautiful brook trout from yesterday’s excursion – the colors were pretty nice and look at those fins!  He fought well and was released – another victim of the switch rod, once again proving it’s value in being able to fish seemingly unaccessible water.

Upper Connecticut River Fishing Report: 8/3

If these are the “dog days of summer”, I wish we had many more of them, because the weather has been exceptional lately here in the north country of New Hampshire. That is one nice brook trout that our guest Chad Whitcomb caught and released on the Trophy Stretch last week – a beauty of a fish and don’t we wish that they were all that big! Thank you Mariah for that great picture.

Connecticut River Fishing Report: 7/20

Connecticut River flows in all sections of the river have remained stable all this past week, ensuring good angling for most of our guests. The cold water in the Trophy Stretch and especially below Murphy Dam have helped our local trout and salmon stay in a “feeding” frame of mind, like that nice one pictured above, caught and released by Griffin Nyhan.

Connecticut River Fishing Report: 7/15

The fishing continues to be pretty good here on the Upper Connecticut River. That was our guest Ryan Aghoian with a nice salmon caught on a Stimulator and released in the “No Kill” section, between Second Connecticut Lake and First Connecticut Lake. Thanks for the picture!

Nice Beginning!

What a way to start a fly fishing career – this is Henry Pizzo with his 17″, 3 lb. brook trout, caught and released under the expert tutelage of our guide Angus Boezeman.  We’re sure that Henry will have plenty more big ones in his fishing future …
