Fly Fishing NH's Connecticut Lakes Region

Day: May 24, 2010

Another beautiful day in paradise…

The weather in Pittsburg has been more like Florida. Hot & Humid. Today it was in the eighties and the forecast for the next few days is sunny, in the mid seventies and the weekend is also looking good.

The stocking truck was spotted at Back Lake and the Trophy Stretch today, just in time for the holiday weekend. Back Lake has continued to fish well and we’re seeing more and more rising fish in the morning and evening. The Lake Francis inlets, Deadwater, Bog Branch and the Ct. River Inlet  fished very well this past weekend.   OMR has been guiding the last four days using his drift boat and getting his clients into some good fish at the Lake Francis Inlet. Leo Labuda even getting the Grand Slam, a brookie, a brown, a rainbow and a salmon. The Soft Hackle Pheasant Tail was their #1 fly, a Royal Coachman streamer and a Little Brook Trout Bucktail also produced. The Andro fished well on Saturday. Sculpzillas, Conehead Buggers and Tunghead Pheasant Tails with a Olive Hare’s Ear dropper all worked.

We have a new addition to our boat rental fleet. Today Kevin launched our new pontoon boat. It’s a real beauty (photo coming soon) and will be great for taking the family for a Back Lake cruise.

We have another new addition at the lodge. It’s little but it’s BIG!

We have a few openings for the weekend, so give us a call and come on up to meet Monty. The weather and fishing should be outstanding too.
