Today was nice … too nice for trout to actually bite with the high sun, but it was great to wade the river and practice casting anyway. Here’s Jon swinging a big streamer with his 12′ baby spey rod, showing me the right way to do things.
No luck for either of us though, so that first fish of the season is continuing to elude us.
We will set sail tomorrow for The Fly Fishing Show in Marlboro, MA – we hope you’re in the area and are able to stop by the booth this weekend. The show starts Friday with Jon and I, and then we’ll get help from our lodge fly fishing guides Angus Boezeman and Dave Poole on Saturday and Sunday.
There are sure to be some tall tales told this weekend …
