We weren’t sure if we had Yosemite Sam or Scarface in the boat with us yesterday. Tom wanted to catch fish no matter what. (No worries folks. It was only his starting pistol to train the dogs).
I had a great day on the Connecticut River with Tom, OMR, Angus, Dave and with Chuck of North Country Fly Shop. We drifted from Colebrook to Lemington, VT , and we had lots of laughs, a few fish, a little Jack, and a whole lot more laughs. OMR was Top Rod landing a big brown on a BIG streamer. Big Fly = Big Fish. His new Big Fish fly is a white Jointed Urchin. Angus and Dave got a few on the white Zoo Cougar and Chuck was swinging his articulated Zoo Cougar. Tom and I got a few on tan Clousers and the Hatching Pupa.
The weather was forecasted to be a great day yesterday. Sunny and highs in the low seventies. We had wind, clouds and a little rain but it didn’t matter, we were on the river.
The north country is forecasted for a low of 32 degrees or lower tonight, which will be great to lower water temps on Back Lake and the ponds. We’re starting to count down the days. It’s hard to believe we have less than 6 weeks left of fishing. Come on up before it’s over.

The North Country’s Top Guns all in the same place at the same time – scary.

It was either the “greatest collection of fishing talent in northern NH” or the “most b.s. on the river” – you decide.

I vote for the 2nd description – most “boating sports” on the river.
Nice fish, Jon!

Hey John, I see you found out about my secret.
Use the smallest net you can find and the browns
Look like monsters.
