Not too many suitable days for fishing lately, so getting out on some snowshoes yesterday and actually watching some moving water was the next best option.
The Connecticut River’s “No Kill” section, between Second Connecticut Lake and First Connecticut Lake, is a fly only, catch and release water that is home to wild landlocked salmon and brook trout. The fishing has its moments in this section, but the scenery is amazing at any time of the year.
Spring isn’t that far away, and we can’t wait to discover more places to fish this year.

Fifty bonus points to the person that can identify the spot in the still photo. By the way, nice video, Tom.

Is there a pond to the left? How many bonus points do I need for a beer?

I will be sure to take you up on that one Tom. I am unsure about making it home for spring fishing. I will be done working in China on March 15, then hopefully will take a 2-3 week trip around china and then head south to visit my Papa in Australia. From there who knows…depends if i catch Jaws or he catches me…hope you manage to catch your first fish of ’14 soon, I am sure the fiance and sister will get there first but there is no shame in third.
Hope all is well, send my regards to the Tall Timber family.

Thanks Mick – hope all goes good with the remainder of your time overseas, and enjoy it.
I’m okay with third, and being a Dolphins fanatic, you should be happy
with third (or fourth). Keep in touch!
