Fly Fishing NH's Connecticut Lakes Region

Forget Something?

You’re on that long-anticipated fishing trip, you know, the one you’ve been looking forward to all year. You’re on the water and … it’s slow. You hear the stories from other anglers that seem to be doing pretty well, but you don’t quite have the right fly or set up for the situation at hand. Time is a wastin’ and how can you save this trip from going down as a forgettable one?

Don’t give up! Stop by Tall Timber to visit our small, but well stocked, fly shop to rescue your hard earned fishing trip! You may need new leader or tippet material, or those fly patterns that work particularly well in the Connecticut Lakes Region, but whatever it is, we probably have it.

Cindy does a good job changing up the fly selection when needed, and her “market research” trips to Montana usually result in a few new patterns from out west, and guess what – they usually work pretty well over here too. In addition to the hottest new patterns, we also carry all of the tried and true flies that your grandfather probably used to slay fish back in the day.

sunny-brook-netsWe are also proud to carry wonderfully handcrafted catch and release landing nets from Sunny Brook Nets. Tom Stickney’s creations are really works of art, utilizing hardwood species of his native Vermont, and he has a number of selections to suit the taste of any angler. They do no harm to the fish and allow us to safely release them to be pursued another day.

RIO leaders and tippet material, an assortment of strike indicators, and even the best lures for fishing Back Lake, the ponds and river are available as well and don’t forget to check out the “Big Board” for the latest Connecticut River flows and fly patterns of choice.

Oh, and did I mention friendly advice? We have that too.
