As these winter days drag on, it’s likely that you’re daydreaming about learning the art of fly fishing, or you might even be contemplating a dramatic change to how you already pursue trout and salmon. Yes, it’s a serious itch at this time of year and we fly fisher people need to scratch it at some point soon.
We have a great lineup of instructional fly fishing schools at Tall Timber in 2016, and we hope that you can take the time to attend one this year. For new and intermediate fly fishers, our “Simplified Fly Fishing” class, presented by Broadside International, is the perfect way to start or continue your journey in the world of fly fishing.
Offered on two weekends this summer (June 3 – 5 and July 8 – 10), the Simplified Fly Fishing class gives our students the “soup to nuts” of fly fishing, and can be tailored for more advanced students. Classes are kept small for maximum interaction with instructors Angus Boezeman and Alan Erdossy. They have ushered students in to the world of fly fishing for over two decades, and coupled with clean accommodations at Tall Timber and first class meals at the Rainbow Grille, students have little to think about, except for fly fishing!
For those wishing to broaden their fly fishing horizon, our “Spey Casting with the Switch Rod” casting clinic with William FlySpoke is an excellent way to do just that. We partnered with William last year to offer more advanced fly fishers a clinic that addresses the growing popularity of casting with two handed rods, and its practical application on the upper Connecticut River. Taking the casting clinic in the spring can help you hone your skills during our spring salmon run, or get yourself ready for autumn fishing for big browns and rainbows. Time on the river is maximized, and we will offer this casting clinic on Saturday, May 14.
Please call us at 1-800-835-6343 (talk to Tom) if you’re interested in attending one of our fly fishing classes in 2016.
There’s no time like the present!
