This beautiful Connecticut River brown trout was one of two caught and released by our guest Rich MacNeil on New Years Day. In addition to being one of the best anglers that we see at the lodge on a regular basis, Rich also takes wonderful photos as well, and this is another of his greats.

Remember those new rules on the Connecticut River from Murphy Dam south to the Route 114 bridge in West Stewartstown, NH – artificial lures only, barbless hooks and, most importantly, catch and release, from now until the fourth Saturday in April.

We’ll see in the years to come what a special place this fishery could be.
