That’s our Jon, with a nice one on in the Connecticut River’s Trophy Stretch – the Goomie Worm was the ticket for the rainbow that he landed. There were also some brook trout caught in this area as well, so there’s good fishing to be had … where are you this weekend?

Many waters in Pittsburg were stocked with trout this past week, and the Trophy Stretch was definitely part of that. The fish did seem more active yesterday, as the water temperature has come up to the low 50’s. BWO’s and Hendricksons were hatching yesterday, so the warm temps from this week turned on our insect life.

We’ve also heard good reports from some of the outer brook trout ponds. Coon Brook Bog was particularly good this week for one of our guides with his clients, as the Parachute Adams was doing the trick on the brookies.

First Connecticut Lake yielded some good landlocked salmon for one of our guests trolling flies yesterday, and Third Connecticut Lake was kind to another of our guests, as the lake trout were hitting on Sutton spoons.

We have some lodging openings this coming week, so give us a call at 1-800-835-6343 if you can get away. This is the best time of the year if you’re a fisherman.

So much water to fish, so little time …
