Cold Weather Streamer Presentation Tips

It’s may be late April, but it is still the right time to employ cold weather fishing methods here on northern New Hampshire waters. At 37 degrees or so, the Connecticut River is chilly and will remain so until we actually see some concentrated sunshine.

Connecticut River Fishing Update: 4/25

Technically, this is opening day for trout fishing on ponds and lakes in New Hampshire. That’s fine and dandy, but there’s no open water yet on lakes or ponds in Pittsburg, and probably won’t be for a week or two to come.

Another Brown Brought to Justice

Rich MacNeil with yet another brown bruiser that he caught and released this week on the Connecticut River. Flows are slowly coming up – they should come up faster if we get the rain next week that is predicted for us.

Rich is also quite an accomplished photographer as well – he took this picture with a tripod and trigger shutter release.

On the brink … of fishing

It’s been a long, cold one all over the northeast this winter, but it seemed especially ridiculous up here in northern New England. In fact, we had some below zero temps just a couple of weeks ago, but it appears as though we may have turned the corner this week – it’s been beautiful to say the least.
