Upper Connecticut River Fishing Report: 8/24

That’s a beautiful landlocked salmon that our guide Angus Boezeman is holding for his client and our guest Richard Lechthaler a couple of days ago. It was caught and released on the Trophy Stretch of the Connecticut River in Pittsburg, N.H., and undoubtedly told his piscatorial brethren of his brush with Angus, renowned among the trout and salmon of the north country.

A very beautiful brook trout from yesterday’s excursion – the colors were pretty nice and look at those fins!  He fought well and was released – another victim of the switch rod, once again proving it’s value in being able to fish seemingly unaccessible water.

If these are the “dog days of summer”, I wish we had many more of them, because the weather has been exceptional lately here in the north country of New Hampshire. That is one nice brook trout that our guest Chad Whitcomb caught and released on the Trophy Stretch last week – a beauty of a fish and don’t we wish that they were all that big! Thank you Mariah for that great picture.
