Fall Fishing in the Great North Woods

It’s been a bit warmer here of late and the colors really exploded this week as well. It’s a postcard out there right now, if you make the time to get out and see the autumn sights. Back Lake has been fishing really well in September, and there’s been a couple of methods that have worked the best.

Fishing Update: 9/21

So, we’ve had some interesting weather the last couple of weeks. First, a lot of rain, followed by a period of beautiful weather, and now most days have contained at least a shower or too. At least it’s not snow …. yet.  The constant change in the weather has led to inconsistent fishing at times, but some of our guests have had great luck, on different water bodies in our North Country.

Connecticut River Drift Update: 9/2

Fantastic day on the good ole Connecticut yesterday – summerlike temps, in the 70s and low 80s, with plenty of sunsplash. Not the best weather for dry fly action, but boy, does it feel good. These are the waning days of summer, and it’s nice getting a reminder of what is almost over.
