Better Bring More Split Shot …

Well, we’ve survived Irene so far, but this will make things challenging for anglers over the next week, to say the least. In conditions like this, the adage “slow and low” is most appropriate , as the fish are staying on the bottom, trying to avoid the faster currents.  The fishing has been good lately, especially on the Trophy Stretch, for those that are willing to do what it takes to get to the fish. Back Lake Report: 8/16

Casting to rising fish, whether they’re trout or bass is always fun, and when the skies finally cleared after two days of rain, the lake beckoned for another try. Pretty calm on the lake last night, so there were rises to be seen, though sporadic at times.

Yup, I’m bad!

On a drift from Canaan, VT to Colebrook, NH with OMR and his Bride yesterday, I asserted my dominance over yet another fin-bearing species of the northeast.
