Fly Fishing NH's Connecticut Lakes Region

Month: March 2010

Not much fishing going on

We’ve had tough weather conditions lately. Cold and now rain, so it’s keeping some of us inside. Tom was practicing his bartending skills at the annual TTL/RG Staff Spring Fling Party and Jon was the official “drink tester”. Good thing it’s going to be nice this weekend. We need to get those two outside!!

Tom’s first Brown of the season…

Today was perfect for fishing the Connecticut below Murphy. Overcast, a little snow in the air and a Soft Hackle Streamer.

Tom landed this beautiful brown and luckily Chuck showed up to snap a picture. Way to go Tom!!

Early “Ice Out”???

This could be the year of a record “Ice Out” on Back Lake. There is already a little open water along the edges of the lake. I’ve never seen weather like this in the twenty-seven years we’ve been in Pittsburg. Tom and Jon have been out fishing but nothing yet. Water temp out of Murphy Dam is 37 degrees.  We’re all itching to get out there.
